Roddy brings more than 20 years of marketing, communications, and public affairs experience in leadership roles across multiple sectors. He has a proven track record of translating business strategy into understandable and actionable external and internal message platforms and building measurement-oriented brand/marketing teams and campaigns, most recently in his role as Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Boston Children’s Hospital. As a key leader at the world’s top-ranked pediatric hospital, coupled with the largest pediatric research organization, Roddy collaborates with clinicians and researchers across the enterprise to fuel its digital marketing, media relations, social media, internal communications, visual design, and web services.

For nearly a decade, prior to moving to healthcare, Roddy was Senior Vice President at TMG Strategies, the crisis, reputation and issues management arm of Publicis/MSLGroup in Washington, D.C. He led teams representing clients around the globe, including the groundwork for General Motors’ electric vehicle launch, multinational antitrust issues for Symantec and RealNetworks, medical research at Columbia University, and a new global messaging platform for United Technologies. He also served as press secretary to the head of NASA, where he contributed to the development and implementation of NASA’s global media strategy and internal communications, and, earlier, served as press secretary and professional staff on Capitol Hill.

Roddy brings his passion for science and technology to all aspects of his work to create effective and engaging communications and marketing campaigns. With his Mexican heritage, he also brings perspective and cross-cultural understanding. He and his wife reside in Swampscott, Mass., with their three children. He is also active as a member to the GBH Corporate Council and the Wall Street Journal CMO Network.
