Resources for clinicians

The Department of Radiology at Boston Children's Hospital is the country's oldest and largest group of pediatric imaging specialists. We believe in imaging children gently, which means choosing the right test or procedure at the right time for your patients, and doing it the right way.

We focus on safety, using equipment and protocols that keep radiation exposure as low as reasonably possible. In some cases, we avoid radiation altogether by using pediatric ultrasounds or MRI. Whenever possible, we use techniques that don't rely on sedation to help children stay calm and still for imaging studies.

Our pediatric interventional radiologists are experts at performing minimally invasive image-guided procedures using special techniques appropriate for pediatric patients.
